The Event
The Canoe SA Team Paddle Challenge is a weekend event held at Swan Reach.
The event is held over the full moon weekend in October (so the actual date may vary each year), taking advantage of a beautiful section of the River Murray.
This exciting event is one of the largest canoeing events in Australia. Teams for the event are made up of groups from public and private schools, community groups, scouts and guides. The event also accommodates for special needs’ groups.
Team members need to work together to find as many hidden checkpoints as possible in an attempt to gain the most points and win.

Most of the course is upstream from Swan Reach and we use two repeaters. One placed several kilometres from Swan Reach and the other adjacent to our command caravan at Swan Reach.
We maintain a database (excel spreadsheet) which stores the login and logout times of each team as they arrive and leave checkpoints and the overnight Saturday campsite.
